I have a new clerith favourite:
The Oak Tree by spectroscopes: I’ve read so many oneshots of Cloud’s relationship with Aerith up until her death; but this one really sticks. The imagery and emotions are so vivid that it’s like seeing their starcrossed romance all over again. It really deserve more reveiws, so make sure you check it out!
You’re welcome :D
This issue isn’t my favourite. I do love these dresses:
It’s a simple pattern but it ties up beautifully.
Gorgeous! The crinkling looks very flattering, I love capped sleeves too.
I love vintage reproduction patterns. What’s great about this cutesy halterneck is that it wasn’t an extreme of its time. Its totally wearable today
Now for the not so fashionable patterns:
This might have been popular a few decades ago,but I don’t know anyone today who would wear a rectangle pleat dress. The colour combination is terrible.
If you imagine this dress in a better colour, you can see this would be a comfortable Summer dress. I think it should be combined with a skinny belt. It looks too much like a folded sack.
Need I explain? The bow doesn’t tie the outfit together
Time to go back to when Clerith was everyone’s favourite pairing in Final Fantasy VII, before the mainstream sequels and prequels. (Even though I wasn’t part of the fandom back then, I understood their love from playing the game.) I give you the best CloudxAerith stories from way back:
Metaphor by icor: I think this is a true charcterisation of what Aerith was like during Final Fantasy 7. Some of the
Witnessing my Death by irisDedrick: Confusing, but meaningful. What more can I say?
The Beloved by icor: Beware! This is a cautionary tale on why ressurection is against nature. Even though I’m one of those girls who would love to see Cloud and Aerith reunited physically, this didn’t horrify me. Their love is shown on a deeper level The Beloved is pobably the best Clerith horror story on the web
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words by Tortured Hylian Soul: A day in the life of not-emo Cloud; and how he remembers his beloved flower girl.
In the Absence of My Flower Girl by Sadhana: Final Fantasy 7 rewritten. It’s so clear why Cloud and Aerith fell in love from this story. It reminds you of those wonderful moments when you were speculating whether they had feelings for one another; without the emotionless animation!
I’m following the latest Final Fantasy pairing craze: SerahxNoel (aka Nerah!). You wouldn’t think this would work, seeing as Serah has a boyfriend, but love anguish makes good drama. Aside from that, my favourite part of this pairing is that it can be cutesy, saucy or humorousbecause to character’s personalites allow it. (I don’t want to hear the word crack! I saw potential romance in the short time that I’ve played Final Fantasy XIII-2 so far ;D)
Anywho; check out In your Eyes, the Sea by drinktea for the best description of how this author, and may like minded fans such as myself, see their potential.
Here are some of my favourite CloudxAerith fics. Some of them are quite old, most are oneshots. The great reads are out there, one must have the patiences to look! Check this list for more :D
-Black Coffee by Hajime Morikawa: This is the funniest Clerith I have ever read. It’s set in modern times, Cloud’s more eccentric than expected, and Aerith’s no angel, but it still captures the cute chemistry of the characters
-The Wolf Prince by Princes of the Knight: my favourite of this writer. Her stories are very romantic and always with an element of suprise. This one combines Final Fantasy 7 with East of the Sun West of the Moon. It has the elements of a modern, more realistic fairytale.
-The Meaning of a Smile by Bhryn Astairre: It’s had to descibe how deep this story is. Yet it doesn’t cling to you like a half-understood poem. It’s satisfying.
- Never Left by Drake Clawfang: I won’t spoil the heart gushing ending, but this is the kind of story that sends a Clerith fan into tears of sappyness. Also! This is my favourite Clerith author. Some of his oneshots and multichapter stories are the best I’ve read for this pairing. If only he’d write some more D:
Wow, what a post. Happy reading!
Best Friends by Desis is what happens when steady, workaholic Hope is alone with unworldly Noel. (Final Fantasy XIII-2!) Hilarity is ensured. I love how real their friendship seems; it reminds me of the people you’re stuck with as kids that slowly become hardy friends. This is totally in need of more reviews, be generous!
What I love about this story is that it reminds me my childhood reading spooky fairytales. It has the enchanted forest, the poor pretty girl, a beautiful fairy boy. This author handles turning stoic Cloud Strife into a mythical creature incredibly well. Even though the story has just started you can feel the romantic tension between characters. Best of all; there’s no sign of bashing.
Be sure to check out the other Clerith oneshots this author has written!
